Oral NAD+, NR and NMN
Best NAD supplements: compare labels, testing and cost
The best NAD supplement depends on the ingredient and quality evidence you want. NR and NMN are NAD+ precursors; a capsule labeled NAD+ contains a different ingredient. Among the six products below, Elysium Basis and Thorne NiaCel 400 have independently accessible NSF listings, while other products provide laboratory reports or manufacturer testing claims. Use those records to check the product and lot. They do not establish which supplement delivers better health outcomes.
Start with the exact label, then compare the price per labeled serving and the document for your bottle's lot. Human studies have found changes in blood NAD markers with certain precursor regimens, but the studies below do not establish longer life or a best product for women. This guide compares source documents and purchase terms. We have not bought or laboratory-tested these products.

Start with the ingredient and quality evidence
Choose the ingredient first. Compare price within the ingredient you intend to buy. Different salts, ingredients and serving amounts are not clinically equivalent. These are six sampled products, arranged alphabetically in the detailed table, rather than an exhaustive market ranking.
| Your priority | Products to inspect | What still needs checking |
|---|---|---|
| An independent certification directory | Elysium Basis or Thorne NiaCel 400 | Match the named product and lot. Their ingredients differ; certification does not demonstrate treatment benefit. |
| A public laboratory report | ProHealth NMN Pro 300 or Renue NAD+ Complete | Read the report's actual analytes, method and lot. A potency assay alone is not a full contaminants panel. |
| The studied Niagen NR chloride ingredient | Tru Niagen 300 mg | The matching ingredient and 300 mg trial arm concern blood markers. They do not prove outcomes for every user or certify the current retail lot. |
For the difference between the molecules and routes, read NMN versus NAD+. If you meant clinician-prescribed injections, use the separate NAD+ injection provider comparison.
Compare six labels and purchase prices
Amounts below are the manufacturer's labeled serving, not our suggested dose. Prices are standard one-time advertised US product prices checked October 15, 2026. Shipping, tax and any checkout charges are outside the calculation. Subscription discounts and renewal terms are excluded from this table; selecting a recurring option changes the payment agreement.
| Product | Ingredients per labeled serving | Pack and servings | One-time payment | Per labeled serving |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Double Wood NAD+ | NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) 500 mg | 60 capsules; 30 servings of 2 capsules | $39.95 | $1.33 |
| Elysium Basis | NR chloride 250 mg + pterostilbene 50 mg | 60 capsules; 30 servings of 2 capsules | $65.00 | $2.17 |
| ProHealth NMN Pro 300 | Uthever beta-NMN 300 mg | 30 capsules; 30 servings of 1 capsule | $26.95 | $0.90 |
| Renue NAD+ Complete | NMN 310 mg + NAD+ 160 mg + NR 100 mg + trigonelline 70 mg | 120 capsules; 60 servings of 2 capsules | $84.95 | $1.42 |
| Thorne NiaCel 400 | NR hydrogen malate 415 mg + betaine 85 mg | 60 capsules; 60 servings of 1 capsule | $74.00 | $1.23 |
| Tru Niagen 300 mg | Niagen NR chloride 300 mg | 30 capsules; 30 servings of 1 capsule | $49.00 | $1.63 |
ProHealth has the lowest advertised product price per labeled serving in this sample at $0.90, but a single $26.95 bottle falls below its advertised $30 free-shipping threshold. That is not a lowest-delivered-cost finding. Double Wood's availability is unresolved. A label serving also does not necessarily equal a day's supply.
Double Wood NAD+
NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) 500 mg per 2 capsules. The selected pack contains 60 capsules and 30 labeled servings, advertised at $39.95 for a one-time purchase.
Availability is unresolved: the page displays unavailable/backorder wording alongside an in-stock offer record. Confirm before ordering.

Elysium Basis
NR chloride 250 mg + pterostilbene 50 mg per 2 capsules. The selected pack contains 60 capsules and 30 labeled servings, advertised at $65.00 for a one-time purchase.
A two-ingredient formula. Findings about NR alone do not establish the effects of added pterostilbene or this current retail lot.
NSF Certified for Sport directory entry for Basis, with named lots, a 60-capsule pack and two-capsule serving. Read Elysium Basis's testing source.
ProHealth NMN Pro 300
Uthever beta-NMN 300 mg per 1 capsule. The selected pack contains 30 capsules and 30 labeled servings, advertised at $26.95 for a one-time purchase.
The one-bottle product price is below the advertised $30 free-US-shipping threshold. Confirm shipping and the selected stock status at checkout.
Brighton Laboratory potency report for lot 26114, dated November 11, 2025. The linked report is not a contaminants panel. Read ProHealth NMN Pro 300's testing source.

Renue NAD+ Complete
NMN 310 mg + NAD+ 160 mg + NR 100 mg + trigonelline 70 mg per 2 capsules. The selected pack contains 120 capsules and 60 labeled servings, advertised at $84.95 for a one-time purchase.
Four ingredients and a liposomal formulation. No trial of this exact finished formula was verified; the ingredient weights cannot be combined into an equivalent NAD dose.
Public laboratory reports for lot 072827561. Colmaric's September 4, 2026 report covers NAD potency, metals and microbes; the separate Summit report covers four actives. Read Renue NAD+ Complete's testing source.

Thorne NiaCel 400
NR hydrogen malate 415 mg + betaine 85 mg per 1 capsule. The selected pack contains 60 capsules and 60 labeled servings, advertised at $74.00 for a one-time purchase.
415 mg is the labeled hydrogen-malate compound. It is not 415 mg NR chloride, and the salts are not interchangeable milligram for milligram.

Tru Niagen 300 mg
Niagen NR chloride 300 mg per 1 capsule. The selected pack contains 30 capsules and 30 labeled servings, advertised at $49.00 for a one-time purchase.
Do not borrow the certification of a different Niagen product. The label permits more than one capsule per day, so 30 capsules need not last 30 days.
The manufacturer displays a TESTED by SuppCo badge. An independent SuppCo report for this product was not retrieved in our source check. Read Tru Niagen 300 mg's testing source.

What the testing documents establish
A certification listing, a laboratory report and a brand's testing badge answer different questions. The Basis and NiaCel 400 NSF entries identify specific products and lots. Match your bottle to the relevant entry; the listing is not evidence that a supplement extends life.
ProHealth's linked Brighton report measures NMN potency in a client-supplied sample. Its scope does not establish a complete contaminants assessment. Renue publishes reports with different scopes for lot 072827561: the Colmaric report includes NAD potency, metals and microbes, while the separate Summit report measures four actives. The reports show different NAD assay results using different laboratories and methods. That is not a controlled comparison of stability or proof that potency declined. ProHealth report; Renue product and lot reports.
Double Wood's linked COA identifies in-house testing, even though its product page makes a broader third-party-testing claim. Tru Niagen's page displays a SuppCo badge; we did not retrieve the independent report. Read the testing claim together with that limitation. Ask for the report matching the lot you will receive, including the analytes you care about, rather than relying on a generic “tested” logo.
Is there a best NAD supplement for women?
The studies reviewed here do not identify a best NAD supplement for women. A small randomized study tested oral NMN, 250 mg daily for 10 weeks, in 25 postmenopausal women with prediabetes and overweight or obesity. It found improved skeletal-muscle insulin sensitivity. It did not establish treatment for hot flashes, weight loss or benefits for women generally. Yoshino et al., 2021; NIDDK's study summary.
That NMN regimen is not evidence for an NR product, direct NAD+ capsule or injection, or for every current NMN bottle. A product marketed to women still needs an exact label and relevant human evidence. If your decision concerns menopause symptoms and hormone care, HRT Picks compares menopause HRT services; NAD-related supplements are a separate category.
What the human studies measured
Blood NAD measurements, metabolic tests and felt benefits are different outcomes. The table preserves the studied ingredient, population and duration. Trial amounts describe research; they are not instructions to copy a regimen.
| Study and participants | Intervention | Finding and boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Conze, 2019 140 enrolled, otherwise healthy adults with overweight | Niagen NR chloride, 100, 300 or 1,000 mg daily; 8 weeks | Whole-blood NAD rose by 22%, 51% and 142% at two weeks in the respective groups, maintained through eight weeks. A biomarker finding, not proof of longer life or improved energy. ChromaDex funded the study; author financial ties were disclosed. |
| Dellinger, 2017 120 randomized adults aged 60 to 80 | NR 250 mg + pterostilbene 50 mg, or twice those amounts; 8 weeks | The Basis combination increased whole-blood NAD. The paper also reports lipid changes, including LDL, and baseline imbalances. Elysium funded the work and company-linked authors disclosed interests. The trial does not establish anti-aging benefit or equivalence of today's retail lots. |
| Yoshino, 2021 25 postmenopausal women with prediabetes and overweight or obesity | NMN 250 mg daily; 10 weeks | Improved skeletal-muscle insulin sensitivity in this narrow population. This is not evidence of menopause symptom treatment, general weight loss or superiority of one retail brand. |
| Dollerup, 2018 40 sedentary men with obesity and insulin resistance, aged 40 to 70 | NR 1,000 mg twice daily; 12 weeks | No improvement in insulin sensitivity, whole-body glucose metabolism or body composition. A different ingredient and population from the NMN women's trial; their results cannot be exchanged. |
Ingredient research does not validate every finished formula. Neither NR chloride trial establishes an equivalent effect for Thorne's hydrogen-malate salt or Renue's four-ingredient liposomal blend. We did not verify a finished-product trial for the current Double Wood, ProHealth, Renue or Thorne products. These selected trials also do not establish long-term safety across populations.
Before you choose a product
FDA does not approve dietary supplements before they are marketed. A supplement label, certification or testing report should not be read as FDA approval of a drug or proof that a product treats a disease. FDA: questions and answers on dietary supplements.
- Match the exact ingredient and salt on the label. Avoid treating the total milligrams in a blend as one equivalent NAD dose.
- Match the bottle's lot to the certificate or laboratory report. Check what was actually measured and who supplied the sample.
- Check the first payment, delivery interval, renewal amount and cancellation deadline if you select a subscription. A prepaid amount divided by months is not a monthly bill.
- Confirm current stock, shipping and tax before comparing delivered cost. The product prices above are source observations, not checkout guarantees.
- Read the product's warnings. Discuss suitability with a qualified clinician if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medicines or managing a medical condition. Elysium's current Basis page says not to use it while pregnant or nursing; Thorne's product page has its own warnings.
